VANA | Rishikesh Dehradun, Uttrakhand | Outskirts
Vana offers treatments in their most traditional and authentic form. These are often customised to achieve a Vanavasi’s needs but only with a doctor’s consent and without compromising the tradition.
Certain treatments may not be suitable for a person’s present state of health. Our Team would not make compromises if we feel a treatment or private session is not in your best interest. Please note that as per traditional practice, most Ayurveda and Sowa Rigpa treatments are not offered during menstrual cycle.
YOUR RETREAT AT VANA INCLUDES:
• A Retreat Program with yoga, meditation, cuisine lessons, functional fitness, talks, music and more
• Arrival and departure wellness consultations
• All cuisine including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner
• Private treatments/specialist consultations/sessions based on 1 wellness weight per night per guest
• Attire to wear within and outside Vana, footwear, summer and winter accessories
• Airport transfers from Dehradun Airport
• No service charge or gratuities added. Our team does not expect tips as appreciation for their work
Each of our treatments, consultations and private sessions has a value in wellness weights, mostly between 1 and 2. Guests can take à la carte wellness weights in addition. These might also be recommended by our wellness team to derive better results from your retreat.
Our cuisine is creative, mindful, varied and in sync with our wellness philosophy and perspective on nature. It will allow you to curate your own diet at Vana with guidance from us. We are able to adapt to different dietary needs and restrictions while staying within our cuisine and wellness philosophies.
We encourage guests to have their meals in the dining spaces and at appropriate timings. Food ordered to guest rooms will incur a nominal charge.
We request that the Vana KP (kurta pajama) or elegant attire be worn at dinner time. We also request that appropriate attire be worn in the Kila as we consider it a sacred space.

VANA
Vana is a Wellness Retreat nestled amongst Sal forest in Dehradun, close to the foothills of the
Indian Himalayas.
A search for equilibrium, learning and the inner journey are at the heart of Vana. Vana draws inspiration from its literal meaning - forest - a place that protects, nurtures and nourishes, while providing space to discover and flourish. Those that choose to take abode within Vana are referred to as Vanavasis.
GETTING TO VANA
Vana is located in Dehradun, in the state of Uttarakhand, northern India. There are multiple daily flights between Dehradun’s Jolly Grant airport and Delhi and Mumbai. Other airports with a single daily flight include Jaipur, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Cities such as Lucknow and Varanasi have direct flights on certain days of the week. On arrival at Dehradun airport Vanavasis are received by a Vana team member and driven to the Retreat (60 minutes).
WELLNESS OFFERINGS
At Vana, authentic traditions of wellness, medicine and wisdom have been brought together with creative thought, deep commitment and personalised support. The structured frameworks of Ayurveda, Sowa Rigpa and Yoga have been mindfully integrated alongside wellness practices of the contemporary world. These exist in spaces that are a homage to nature and the sublime. Nourishing cuisine, experiences for all the senses and a kind-hearted team complete the offering that is Vana.
All Vanavasis start their retreat with a private consultation with one of Vana’s wellness consultants. A program is then developed by the consultant in line with the Vanavasi’s wellness goals. Each Vanavasi’s program is made up of private treatments combined with a wide selection of retreat activities. There is the option to complement included offerings with a la carte treatments. Group sessions include yoga, meditation, breathing, music therapy, walks, hikes, cuisine and fitness. Indian musical performances, festivities and spiritual activities complement Vana’s Wellness offering. Vana also hosts retreats and specialists in-residence throughout the year.
