Dheemahi Ayurvedic Village

Dheemahi means "we meditate upon the supreme knowledge or intellect." This word encapsulates the essence of the Vedas, the foundation of Ayurveda. Ayurveda, a branch of the Atharva Veda, is one of the four Vedas: Rig, Yajur, Sama, and Atharva.

Dheemahi Ayurveda was co-founded by Dr. Jayakrishan and Dr. Namitha, with guidance from Dr. Girish and Dr. Padmadevi. Following the tradition of opening their own center after completing formal medical education and training under the previous generation of doctors, they established Dheemahi Ayurveda.

Each generation in this lineage had their own Ayurveda centers or places of practice. Ayyapan Pillai Vaidyan and his predecessors practiced in Kalari, a teaching place for young Ayurveda Vaidyas (Doctors). SNV Vaidyashala was established in 1921 by the late VK Madhavan Pillai Vaidyan, Balakrishna Pharmacy in 1960 by the late Dr. VR Balakrishnan Nair (now run by Dr. Girish), and Athreya Ayurveda in 1996 by Dr. Girish and Dr. Padmadevi (now run by Dr. Jayalakshmi and Dr. Sreejit).
